Currently based in Pittsburgh, PA, Jordana Kleiner is a dedicated flutist and piccolo player frequently performing in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings across North America.
As an orchestral musician, Jordana has performed extensively with the orchestras at both Boston University and the University of Toronto. In addition, she has performed as substitute flutist with the New England Philharmonic.
In 2024, she was a participant in the Continuum Contemporary Ensemble's HATCH Mentorship Program, where she spent the summer in Toronto learning and performing Canadian contemporary works, including three world premieres. The program featured the student ensemble touring in Southern Ontario, where they performed at multiple summer chamber festivals, including Toronto Summer Music, Ottawa Chamberfest, and Biglake Arts Festival.
In other past summers, Jordana has participated in the Scotia Festival of Music Young Artists Program in Halifax, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute, and the New York University Woodwinds Intensive. She also spent the summer of 2022 abroad in Vienna, where she studied privately with Furugh Karimi at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and performed in multiple chamber groups.
Jordana has been the recipient of a multitude of competition prizes and scholarships. Most recently, she was the winner of the Fenwick Smith Award for best performance of a modern work in the 45th annual James Pappoutsakis Memorial Competition. She was also awarded a two-year scholarship from the Tuesday Musical Club following their 2024 Scholarship Competition. Some of her other prizes include the Howard F. Andrews Memorial Prize, Ezra Schabas Performance Award, Arthur Plettner Scholarship, and Ian R Dalton Music Scholarship.
As an avid proponent of performing new and underrepresented works, Jordana was a part of multiple student initiatives during her undergraduate studies. In 2022-23, Jordana served as Principal Flute in the Toronto Chamber Symphony, which is a student-founded and student-led chamber orchestra. She also was a member of the Green Room Sound Collective, where composition and performance students collaborated to debut new works.
Jordana currently studies with Diana Morgan as a member of the DM Flute Studio. She has played in many masterclasses for esteemed performers, such as Lorna McGhee, Renée Krimsier, Timothy Hagen, and Gergely Ittzés. In 2025, Jordana earned a Master of Music degree at Boston University, where she studied under Linda Toote. She earned her Bachelor of Music two years prior from the University of Toronto, where she studied under Camille Watts and Kelly Zimba.
